<br />
I've been really busy but want to share some of the layouts that I made with the December 34th Street Studio Calico Kit.<br />
<br />
What attracted me when I opened the kit was the vellum arrows and I knew the minute I saw them that I wanted to incorporate them into my layout. With that in mind, I decided to base my layout on the strong red and yellow hues in the kit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOzQWfi2L3C-zK-NUPUlgQ06-4-Z-pf0ZOkD10F-wfXo45Z4Egys_SaeXPYLKHWWNTvaaKBAnxvzV_-EULON2Eq39ZOgDfIGgaWIhfnsf-wOSPCiupT3Vy_Sev9_qtoXYd2rygYkDGfxRQ/s1600/IMG_3842.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="392" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOzQWfi2L3C-zK-NUPUlgQ06-4-Z-pf0ZOkD10F-wfXo45Z4Egys_SaeXPYLKHWWNTvaaKBAnxvzV_-EULON2Eq39ZOgDfIGgaWIhfnsf-wOSPCiupT3Vy_Sev9_qtoXYd2rygYkDGfxRQ/s400/IMG_3842.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I also used the frames to frame one of the images. The yellow KI memories smile tape is definitely a keeper and using it really made me smile. Most of the strips of patterned paper were from the bottoms of the papers that came with the kit. Love it when manufacturers make them this way in a simple but attractive pattern so that they serve dual purposes.<br />
<br />
Here's the other layout that I whipped up:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtV1SalwAxDkuUvkqQo4KpE_TlVBi91zyRuzIrql8DqKQbkNpyFbfn6YyjUg_VLjhDKE4qCrpc57FuWXUC0HRApcz9TOc5JNqAY_1RyETEK_kssrC6pIjr5mUg1K14bigz6LubeOvO2Gun/s1600/IMG_3843.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="397" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtV1SalwAxDkuUvkqQo4KpE_TlVBi91zyRuzIrql8DqKQbkNpyFbfn6YyjUg_VLjhDKE4qCrpc57FuWXUC0HRApcz9TOc5JNqAY_1RyETEK_kssrC6pIjr5mUg1K14bigz6LubeOvO2Gun/s400/IMG_3843.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I knew that I wanted to use the many brads in different shades and shapes. I decided then to use twine to draw lines to add some visual interest. I also loved the muted patterns that can be used as the background (:<br />
<br />
Hope that you have a great new year and that these layouts have brought you some inspiration.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4624057865818513513.post-69807635126702444132012-12-30T20:59:00.000+08:002012-12-31T04:13:14.077+08:00December Kit by Margrethe Aas JohnsenHello, everyone!<br />
<br />
It's the day before New Year's Eve, and I'm here to bring you the last few projects I made using the December kits from Studio Calico.<br />
<br />
I'd like to start off with a layout with a photo of what greeted me when I came home one day. My husband loves his motorcycles and this year, since we've moved into a new house and he wants to take really good care of them, he carefully moved his favorite bike into his little den on the first floor...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDQ5eELCqClqAhfMKK4dvR23MuCOXtjwHrlQN5oVsEhsIQHfdcWzYKrzmx26uv4_TIe5Fg3lNK5zLJ-uYeId2lQQTpMdfamPX0YbnBtJ28i3i8AxgQtc1jAFEUqqlvRkssrT1269NeJgI/s1600/side+375+-+go+right+ahead+(Scrappin+Studio).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDQ5eELCqClqAhfMKK4dvR23MuCOXtjwHrlQN5oVsEhsIQHfdcWzYKrzmx26uv4_TIe5Fg3lNK5zLJ-uYeId2lQQTpMdfamPX0YbnBtJ28i3i8AxgQtc1jAFEUqqlvRkssrT1269NeJgI/s320/side+375+-+go+right+ahead+(Scrappin+Studio).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On this layout I used the gold glitter paper to cut out a title using my Silhouette. The font is called <i>Nova Solid</i>.<br />
<br />
The second layout is a scraplift of <a href="http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/74991-happy-moments">Tina Azimus' layou</a>t by the same title. I really like doing layouts like this to pick some of the highlights of the year that's passed and since today is the second to last day of the year, I thought this was appropriate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirJ0x6DX2JvB1lLgqsUg3jjA3bivJYJduec6NtJvMCxy_02FdfiY8IIrRHzIJTa42mn6ZwYM4NsBzDemqkbrrhLLAiGLIllOcgVYK6rkEOImmHlJlO_QgmXA9LdKctGY92nUf2bqp4KyU/s1600/side+378+-+Sweet+happy+memories+%2528Scrappin+Studio%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirJ0x6DX2JvB1lLgqsUg3jjA3bivJYJduec6NtJvMCxy_02FdfiY8IIrRHzIJTa42mn6ZwYM4NsBzDemqkbrrhLLAiGLIllOcgVYK6rkEOImmHlJlO_QgmXA9LdKctGY92nUf2bqp4KyU/s320/side+378+-+Sweet+happy+memories+%2528Scrappin+Studio%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
On this layout, I've included photos from the entire year: My in-laws' 50th birthday party, when I was offered a permanent teaching position, the trip we took on the motorcycle last summer, his sister's wedding, my trip to Krakow, my friend's wedding, our cats and general everyday photos.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtgIYUgTtwYHPFs1P9_T2lWde41vFhxG_ELQBl7tIjSPsRoqbqLTY816sAhfJZshR-0T-LzUNGCq_ADrv9Q5okA6oua4rPJg70xvU9GyZ0iAlHCooNAaki_Crcd7X-c5X4Lhr9FQAvDkg/s1600/side+378+-+Sweet+happy+memories+(Scrappin+Studio)+d01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtgIYUgTtwYHPFs1P9_T2lWde41vFhxG_ELQBl7tIjSPsRoqbqLTY816sAhfJZshR-0T-LzUNGCq_ADrv9Q5okA6oua4rPJg70xvU9GyZ0iAlHCooNAaki_Crcd7X-c5X4Lhr9FQAvDkg/s320/side+378+-+Sweet+happy+memories+(Scrappin+Studio)+d01.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
My last project is a card lift. I really loved the card <a href="http://simplestories.typepad.com/simple_stories/2012/12/a-simple-card.html">Emily Pitts made for Simple Storie</a>s and wanted to make something similar. For this card I used the Murray Hill add-on (B-side of the camera paper from KI Memories, as well as the alphabet stickers and fantastic smile washin tape from the same brand).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg01Eh7n6yx8eE1jD-ppZ1RKMxmxUKMmVA6Lr-cImspojmYZS4PWM67oUH4_yUcagRnagZIqOX0_42nPpurreNrSegj5XZogmE4neCqIQLWpp2N9CfblEdJH5fCKqxprJELt84fMh55y2g/s1600/hello+card+%2528Scrappin+Studio%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg01Eh7n6yx8eE1jD-ppZ1RKMxmxUKMmVA6Lr-cImspojmYZS4PWM67oUH4_yUcagRnagZIqOX0_42nPpurreNrSegj5XZogmE4neCqIQLWpp2N9CfblEdJH5fCKqxprJELt84fMh55y2g/s320/hello+card+%2528Scrappin+Studio%2529.jpg" width="256" /></a></div>
Normally I'm not a card maker, but simple cards like this works for me!<br />
<br />
That's it from me for this time. I've loved this chance of working with the gorgeous Studio Calico kits for Scrappin Studio. Jaime, thanks for having me guest twices this year. It's been an absolute pleasure!<br />
<br />
To the readers out there, I hope you've enjoyed looking at my projects. I wish you all the best for the rest of 2012 and I hope 2013 will be an amazing year for you!Frøken Strøkenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08485414732657451127noreply@blogger.com4Sandnes, Norge58.853446600000012 5.731673999999998258.722032100000014 5.4089504999999978 58.98486110000001 6.0543974999999985tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4624057865818513513.post-36395077800142578702012-12-21T22:00:00.000+08:002012-12-21T22:01:06.719+08:00December Kit by Margrethe Aas JohnsenHello! I hope you've had a good December so far! Today I want to share two projects using Studio Calico's Decemeber kit and add-ons.<br />
<br />
For the first layout, I used the Main Kit (34th Street) only. I wanted to make a layout using just the main kit as I'm sure not everyone buys add-ons. The main kit is very versatile and you won't have any problems if this kit is all you've got this month.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPlxrR3H3lEaZP4M79zqzHT_D6M_uswZwzRUyYN0duRZHyNTAFw5btUWwvBy5psOFhTEF8al2ql-VSwE8CBn7IiLL4JZTni68Kg4hRU5AzaZzDRa5f_3Ec7XlrmYNV-gi9GbaFGqDjodk/s1600/side+374+-+finding+our+way+%28Scrappin+Studio%29.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPlxrR3H3lEaZP4M79zqzHT_D6M_uswZwzRUyYN0duRZHyNTAFw5btUWwvBy5psOFhTEF8al2ql-VSwE8CBn7IiLL4JZTni68Kg4hRU5AzaZzDRa5f_3Ec7XlrmYNV-gi9GbaFGqDjodk/s320/side+374+-+finding+our+way+%28Scrappin+Studio%29.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
For this layout I used the gray cardstock as a base and one of Studio Calico's exclusive patterned papers. I really dug into the exclusive Basic Grey alphas, making a big, bold title and then added the journaling spot. I loved the Pebbles Label stickers and loved adding them to the speech bubbles. I see endeless possibilities here!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguRF-BdndjFEPJ7I52Kx1tWDfTHUO6JyvppQ_f0aHtX2J3TMxKtjHAO0ORfeh4H5i4eLDwXqfOhsnikhsGSv6p7jValY26dzedIef-GaCqfLXAp_pSI2Dv-poI2fBjqJtSTyK_ynMvmQc/s1600/side+374+-+finding+our+way+%28Scrappin+Studio%29+d01.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguRF-BdndjFEPJ7I52Kx1tWDfTHUO6JyvppQ_f0aHtX2J3TMxKtjHAO0ORfeh4H5i4eLDwXqfOhsnikhsGSv6p7jValY26dzedIef-GaCqfLXAp_pSI2Dv-poI2fBjqJtSTyK_ynMvmQc/s320/side+374+-+finding+our+way+%28Scrappin+Studio%29+d01.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For my next project I used my Silhouette electronic die-cutter. I needed to make a Christmas card/gift tag and didn't want to make a regular card nor use a posta tag as I've done previous years. I found this great <a href="http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/php/?page=view-shape&id=36550">cut-file from Patty Young</a> and cut the mitten using a holiday paper from October Afternoon (found in the Kriss Kringle add-on). </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCCdDEpD8vKnbj8BhxEONhhwBDNnEKfJTTBW7junOZyAym_hltWhYg93NeSF1I16V9pyMbmkuUeIw2CEqf39Q4b6ffHrUIN859u5G7js_QCtPQtRnvuT74WkMF6WCvJlD7F0tyfdruaUM/s1600/mitten+card+(scrapping+studio)+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCCdDEpD8vKnbj8BhxEONhhwBDNnEKfJTTBW7junOZyAym_hltWhYg93NeSF1I16V9pyMbmkuUeIw2CEqf39Q4b6ffHrUIN859u5G7js_QCtPQtRnvuT74WkMF6WCvJlD7F0tyfdruaUM/s320/mitten+card+(scrapping+studio)+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I cut another mitten using kraft cardstock as I needed a non-patterned
background for the star shape on the mitten. I used my Silhouette once
more to cut out the "god jul"-sentiment in gold glitter paper (found in
main kit).<br />
<br />

It's December again! Oh my time flies! Here are my last projects for the month using Studio Calico's November kits: <a href="http://www.scrappinstudio.com.my/webshaper/store/viewProd.asp?pkProductItem=861">Sock Hop </a>and Bobby Socks.<br />
<br />
First I have a simple Thank You 6" x 6" card combining kraft and blue with a touch of soft pink, all from main kit Sock Hop. Flowers were cut using Sizzix Eclips.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Next I have a more cheerful project; a Birthday 6" x 6" card using add-on kit Bobby Socks. The flag lines were manually cut, layered and adhered with foam dots.<br />

I'm back with another 12 x 12 layout using November's main kit Sock Hop. I used the white dotted cardstock as a base. Then I trimmed the vellum to 11 x 11 and laid it on the center of the white base. Using strips of patterned paper I created the design on the left. Then embellish away with the Basic Grey washi tape and wooden flourish! (I painted one of the woodies with red ink!) The yellow 'doily' shape was stamped with a Martha Stewart punch.<br />

Happy Friday and Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating! Today I am back with another layout made with the November kit. I did a bit of layering with four different pattern papers and added a small glassine bag that came together with the kit to keep my journaling. To create the banner, I first have to decide how and where to put my photo. Once I have that figured out, I stitched down the vellum circles and then lastly adhere the photo piece. The clothespin are for visual interest only. I think I am quite obsess with splattering paint on my layout and this one is no exception either. </div>

<div>
I hope you like today's layout and I will be back next week to share another project. See you!</div>

<br />
Here's a quick and easy tutorial to the layout<br />
<ol>
<li>Firstly I determined where I wanted the patterned papers. I decided
to use the 2 pieces of promotional papers that came with the kit, they
were already a good size :) </li>
<li>Next I lay over the other layers. I
needed a red to make the layout pop and I sneaked in some leftover paper
from September's kit hehe (the one with the box numbers).</li>
<li>Then I removed everything and misted some red ink on the yellow base paper.</li>
</ol>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFIJycDKNxQJqKxYPD4ChfspjJvKRRo_up22cqDepWJdNjCmatoHBJRvB9UT-dDzlKmqGxHYfZmipgvHFOxr96wEi-DaVdpRenLTCCk8lzuIBGTIpLODucSf5JbtgKcGeOjUKIxo7hqfM/s1600/IMG_4965-tile.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="302" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFIJycDKNxQJqKxYPD4ChfspjJvKRRo_up22cqDepWJdNjCmatoHBJRvB9UT-dDzlKmqGxHYfZmipgvHFOxr96wEi-DaVdpRenLTCCk8lzuIBGTIpLODucSf5JbtgKcGeOjUKIxo7hqfM/s400/IMG_4965-tile.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

I created some embellishments using the arrow stamps. Stamp in black on
the paper and fussy cut. Use foam dots to adhere it to the layout and
watch it pop!<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's <a href="http://cindylee12.blogspot.com/">Cindy</a> here and today I will be sharing a layout I made with the November kit, Sock Hop and the add on kit, Poodle Skirt. Oh, how I love the colors from both kits! I started this layout with the photo and slowly work my way around it. Can you see the feather vellum (also by Dear Lizzy) behind the photo and the butterfly die cut? I love how subtle the effect was and thought it would be a great contrast for my bright yellow butterfly die cut. The rest of the embellishments came pretty quickly and surprisingly I love the floral die cut that I tucked behind the photo. See the diagonal stripe banner below the photo? It was added last minute due to a minor "accident". I wanted to stamp the date but I had it all wrong...instead of 2012, I stamped 2015. Bummer! Then, I had an idea to cover it with the banner and a sticker with a stamped date. Yes, I got the correct date in the end :) I hope you like this layout as much as I am. Have a great day!</div>

<br />
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but better late than never I reckon. My life has certainly been in a whirlwind so I apologise for these late layouts and hope that how they look compensate for the fact that they are later than usual.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSpcLf0LAKrgaz_1ctyIU9p__hyphenhyphen4_vNNzyMjZM-Rg2zYW1h16YOgxt0_iyep8y7rtu5I3SRYUG8MCMl0Yg-RMp6q61LhW5j-318qKVRGmQbxo5rlw1AM9fj4F64oJYvGhDLX0OGh8HMjBg/s1600/topoftheworld.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSpcLf0LAKrgaz_1ctyIU9p__hyphenhyphen4_vNNzyMjZM-Rg2zYW1h16YOgxt0_iyep8y7rtu5I3SRYUG8MCMl0Yg-RMp6q61LhW5j-318qKVRGmQbxo5rlw1AM9fj4F64oJYvGhDLX0OGh8HMjBg/s1600/topoftheworld.jpg" height="400" width="389" /></a></div>
<br />
Using contents from the kit, I decided that I wanted the wooden chevron to be part of the focus, and used strips of patterned paper to "decorate" the chevrons. I decided to juxtapose this chevron with the wooden veneer chevrons in the "Crack the Whip" add-on. Love using the woodgrain thickers too (:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqF0Yub_JGeFYqP2SdHCXfwOoscZR-n4PMTNYVH9fD2w6UiVxDjKZCmrmUK1iMVgnOsTbHhq65hui59GZIULTFx4Oe10yetGoYxA5vbdt877LLR37BJWPsM-b4027Hs2DuDZe1wBY294Zl/s1600/me%254027.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqF0Yub_JGeFYqP2SdHCXfwOoscZR-n4PMTNYVH9fD2w6UiVxDjKZCmrmUK1iMVgnOsTbHhq65hui59GZIULTFx4Oe10yetGoYxA5vbdt877LLR37BJWPsM-b4027Hs2DuDZe1wBY294Zl/s1600/me%254027.jpg" height="400" width="317" /></a></div>
<br />
I put my Silhouette Cameo to use with this layout, cutting 27, the age I'm turning, and highlighted one, by putting a different color behind one of the digits. I also decided to use the phrases in the sticker sheet that I thought would define what I want to continue growing in grace to be. I'm also a tad obsessed with the wooden veneer chevrons.<br />

I'm thrilled with this month's kits as the colors are so fresh and bright and I just love the little clear stamps and fun brads! Can't wait to use them all! :)<br />
<br />
On to my projects... I'm starting with Bobby Socks, November's #1 add on kit. Get the kit <a href="http://scrappinstudio.com.my/webshaper/store/viewProd.asp?pkProductItem=862">here</a> :)<br />

First is a fresh and simple birthday card, love how the patterns in the kit complement each other so well, and that red tag is just delicious :)<br />

<br />
I'm back with my last two projects using the November kits "Roller Rink" and "Couple's Skate".<br />
<br />
The first is a layout with a photo of our new kitten, Nymeria. I used a photo of her on one of my layouts last week as well, remember?<br />
<br />
This layout is all about how much I love just as she is right now. She's about 13 weeks old, very fierece and loves to explore. As we have three adult male cats, she is checking the boundaries tries to find her place in "the packs", so to speak.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjs1wB_jfDRLTQIsul19NLg8Eng_a-Dc8S2oQEIEoNBxMwftEpg_rTtYGY7M8yJnJgX-Vk39Wip9yf2rEkzx4G4NY3L4bRiD8sfRBBlFbNASf4KmU6TbC2vI4xR72uS31T9RyKo4Ul6ZU/s1600/side+370+-+stay+just+like+this+%2528Scrappin+Studio%2529+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjs1wB_jfDRLTQIsul19NLg8Eng_a-Dc8S2oQEIEoNBxMwftEpg_rTtYGY7M8yJnJgX-Vk39Wip9yf2rEkzx4G4NY3L4bRiD8sfRBBlFbNASf4KmU6TbC2vI4xR72uS31T9RyKo4Ul6ZU/s320/side+370+-+stay+just+like+this+%2528Scrappin+Studio%2529+copy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I just love woodgrain patterned paper, so I knew I wanted to use this sheet by Pebbled Inc. at some point. It turned out just beautiful with the yellow Kesi'art paper and the doilies from my stash. I think I've successfully combined my normally very graphic style (like the top left corner) with a more layered, romantic look (cluster at the bottom right of the photo). And how much do I love those decorative brads from My Min's Eye? A whole lot, that is!!!<br />
<br />
The second project is a card. Not something I usually make (check my folders, I only made one card last year and this is my first in 2012!). But...! We're going to a wedding this week and I don't want to buy a card when I can make one myself.<br />
<br />
I used the decorative brads on this as well - after going to the store to get some! (Oh boy, do I wish the package from My Mind's Eye had more of these...!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglhQwxEqwIluGR_tqqMUIYa37J3Mur4IG0xrX1oY4dLXhKyT-AWKCQ_Nw0TcLT2RDay3_QH7A-zwoLXSJu6NCpffoMDgkOxptODdXse7SDmrjUrgXsl-z7wEVdIEpLeHGiljd0PqRwNAo/s1600/Hurrah+%2528Scrappin+Studio%2529+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglhQwxEqwIluGR_tqqMUIYa37J3Mur4IG0xrX1oY4dLXhKyT-AWKCQ_Nw0TcLT2RDay3_QH7A-zwoLXSJu6NCpffoMDgkOxptODdXse7SDmrjUrgXsl-z7wEVdIEpLeHGiljd0PqRwNAo/s320/Hurrah+%2528Scrappin+Studio%2529+copy.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The card is cut to a standardized size (20cm tall and 30cm wide), but I scored it so that the front is more narrow than the back. When closed, the doily on the front covers the patterned paper on the inside, giving it an asymmetrical, but lovely, look.<br />
<br />
The inside of the card has been decorated using the left over paper from Studio Calico and Kesi'art. The greeting inside is written on a paper doily identical to the one on the front.<br />
<br />
Well, that's it for me for this time, but I'll be back as a guest designer in December! <br />

<br />
I'm Margrethe and I'm the guest designer with Scrappin Studio this month. Today I want to show you two layouts I made using the October kit, Roller Rink and the add-on Couples Skate.<br />
<br />
The first layout is with a photo I took on a recent trip to Krakow, Poland. While wandering the streets there, I came across this really cool, bright red car. The city of Krakow is beautiful, with its old Medieval city center, but it is still a big city with dust, dirt and exhaust. So coming across this bright color was unexpected and I had to take a photo of it.<br />
<br />
For this layout I used only the main kit, Roller Rink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIHLADnyb16dbz3Dz6VH72ysupbpKFo81FcnP0lc7mIlPrQc_d1CBxVl6QAQChedzWRnq4WWddN9IVHeUUFl3E4HdD0S6-0h4DE7XJG5foWDtU5bf2kfN1LcDc_AFjNfp1teCTI04GB_E/s1600/side+367+-+the+red+car+(Scrappin+Studio+guest+DT)+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIHLADnyb16dbz3Dz6VH72ysupbpKFo81FcnP0lc7mIlPrQc_d1CBxVl6QAQChedzWRnq4WWddN9IVHeUUFl3E4HdD0S6-0h4DE7XJG5foWDtU5bf2kfN1LcDc_AFjNfp1teCTI04GB_E/s320/side+367+-+the+red+car+(Scrappin+Studio+guest+DT)+copy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I love everything wood and woodgrain, so when I found this paper by [insert] in the kit, I knew I had to make a layout with some bright colors on it as well. The chevrons are hand-cut from one of the in-kit adds. I used some paper doilies I have in my stash to add some layers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWXz9FmuW3dtHS1N-imFoF9rpgnOfDHTkfNA-SDk69_DlaqARDKek3f9D8-K0G2_d7Q6lNwqMrciATl8KvKa5_-caNAgOhyQV-PX2CcQYqcHPs9kW205AX1Ja84I8Wb5I2pRAnLMvJkmo/s1600/side+367+-+the+red+car+(Scrappin+Studio+guest+DT)+d02+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWXz9FmuW3dtHS1N-imFoF9rpgnOfDHTkfNA-SDk69_DlaqARDKek3f9D8-K0G2_d7Q6lNwqMrciATl8KvKa5_-caNAgOhyQV-PX2CcQYqcHPs9kW205AX1Ja84I8Wb5I2pRAnLMvJkmo/s320/side+367+-+the+red+car+(Scrappin+Studio+guest+DT)+d02+copy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The vellum speech buble and the Instagram-flair was just perfect as it looks like one of the pedestrians was pointing at the car just as the shutter of my iPhone camera closed. Of course, this photo was shared on <a href="http://extragr.am/froeken_stroeken/289033341479042769_1306678">Instagram</a>...<br />
<br />
My next layout is made using both Roller Rink and the add-on Couple Skate. The photo is of our newest family member, Nymeria. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0RKhPR7NKGygj8H04lYJZoc-0jsQwGMPAkVphFvn4WoudgA2D0njQ99Al9hayv9_qkK7MhNM0VUxAYThm7Kwo_pBZahZX36fp3-6eyEFLhZ8eLzL8Suvqe7IWWF9Rc6CSsFkCp1IrKt0/s1600/side+368+-+nymeria+(Scrappin+Studio+guest+dt)+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0RKhPR7NKGygj8H04lYJZoc-0jsQwGMPAkVphFvn4WoudgA2D0njQ99Al9hayv9_qkK7MhNM0VUxAYThm7Kwo_pBZahZX36fp3-6eyEFLhZ8eLzL8Suvqe7IWWF9Rc6CSsFkCp1IrKt0/s320/side+368+-+nymeria+(Scrappin+Studio+guest+dt)+copy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a heart punch to cut the hearts and added them to the cardstock
in a starburst-like manner to draw the focus to the photo. I stamped the
chevron and the sentiment using regular black stamp ink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The pink/red alphas from Amy Tangerine was perfect for the title, without taking to much attention away from the woodgrain alphas and the main part of the layout's title.<br />
<br />
Thank you for visiting today!<br />
<br />
Love,<br />

I am back to share another layout using the Central High kit and Style Guide add-on kit. I am just glad I used some of the embellishments from the kit that I never have thought of using in the first place. Like the red and orange letter stickers by Amy Tangerine and the hexagon chipboard. I used the chipboard as a mask and I love how it turned out. Think I will be using it more often from now on :) Not sure if you noticed the smudge of black ink on my layout but I used black mist to cover the minor accident that were caused by my carelessness. And it worked just fine :) So the tip of the day is if you happen to have accident like this, take a bottle of your favorite mist or ink and just splatter away. It makes your project looks artsy too.<br />

Hi peeps,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's mid month again and it's Studio Calico sneak preview. I was in awe when I saw the sneak peek this month. Every month, I am already having trouble to select which add-on I want it badly but this month I guess I will be in trouble. All the add-on kits are so yummy and I feel like hoarding it ALL (lol). Well, you tell me what's your reaction once you look through the sneak.</div>

It's Cindy and today I have a layout to share using the September kit. I love the arrow stamp from the Style Guide kit so much that I decided to use it for my background. For added interest, I stitched the arrows with my newly bought sewing machine :) When I saw the alpha sticker by Amy Tangerine, I wasn't sure if I'm ever going to use it. At first I thought they were plastic but I was wrong. And now, they are in my favorite product list. They are so fun to use and I like them better than Thickers.<div>

It's <a href="http://cindylee12.blogspot.com/">Cindy</a> and I am back to share what I've made using the September kit, Central High and add-on 1, Style Guide.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For the first card, I used American Crafts pattern paper from the main kit and mat it on a cream card base. I punch out three butterflies on a diagonal blue pattern paper by Studio Calico and wrap bakers twine around it twice and finished it off with the "today" tab. For added dimension, I adhere the butterfly panel with foam square.<br />
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9-fM-nC7h4KJ5oizM2E4a2nPbOCZXqCu0uiJY9wKLZgHluBemp7_rx8o4iRlIqHeNd4ZLVBRIxaI4WX2LJKRQoZEXcb31b273unMCi66_x9pFgCnSYoyXYggUj0B0dwllEsiF9Jz_wSo/s1600/IMG_3277.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9-fM-nC7h4KJ5oizM2E4a2nPbOCZXqCu0uiJY9wKLZgHluBemp7_rx8o4iRlIqHeNd4ZLVBRIxaI4WX2LJKRQoZEXcb31b273unMCi66_x9pFgCnSYoyXYggUj0B0dwllEsiF9Jz_wSo/s400/IMG_3277.JPG" width="362" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For my second card, I want it to be clean and simple so I keep embellishments to minimal. I cut out three banners of different sizes and adhere them to the left side of the kraft card base. I wrap bakers twine around it and tied in a bow. I adhere a flair button on the bow and finished off the card with faux stitching. </div>
<div>

Hi everyone,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have a layout to share with everyone that I made with the Studio Calico Summer of '69 kit. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the Prima dots to mimic misting, and layered a doily, an item commonly associated with a bakery. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvjOe0NrXERwSoMFjVtLPKo1lgRAx9TRdwGltXN0XJa6OZJzSIsxBGcswJG_NFnN0jr-jpHHMDK7N0xgab0BJWziNI73r_4dUDY_8jcODIZfTnIaUr0PWdyBgXoi72WUNHjOwC8DuRGazO/s1600/DSCF8354.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvjOe0NrXERwSoMFjVtLPKo1lgRAx9TRdwGltXN0XJa6OZJzSIsxBGcswJG_NFnN0jr-jpHHMDK7N0xgab0BJWziNI73r_4dUDY_8jcODIZfTnIaUr0PWdyBgXoi72WUNHjOwC8DuRGazO/s400/DSCF8354.JPG" width="385" /></a></div>
<br />
<div>
I also added in stitching on the chipboard letters title, as well as in the place of lines of my journaling.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdO275mxidCJ0e4rA10sChit9xZ8_uG5QoEnRXFrrydbOCuU_JND0_s1dlAVanmWJO9jV3xLmeCWLBqV_CLf6T684oZUqCzIM-w6-5xeXABE53lc6pOXZZ5OtCwf_iuhoQa1HAqz44UpJq/s1600/DSCF8355.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdO275mxidCJ0e4rA10sChit9xZ8_uG5QoEnRXFrrydbOCuU_JND0_s1dlAVanmWJO9jV3xLmeCWLBqV_CLf6T684oZUqCzIM-w6-5xeXABE53lc6pOXZZ5OtCwf_iuhoQa1HAqz44UpJq/s400/DSCF8355.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I also cut out chevrons to point the eye towards the title.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBFbK_t_mgIbx51CD4P6ag7l8v-cPOW1ea4X1Dn9fZ1OMvQTBZFGKa2J3VWZDJG87EVpxkhiE6l6XfcmYBTHTUQ2C6S6SwY6UCR_fC5T4eCBc09mCbOz7SQ-0JecUTNKeO-BI-XuD5eyOM/s1600/DSCF8356.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBFbK_t_mgIbx51CD4P6ag7l8v-cPOW1ea4X1Dn9fZ1OMvQTBZFGKa2J3VWZDJG87EVpxkhiE6l6XfcmYBTHTUQ2C6S6SwY6UCR_fC5T4eCBc09mCbOz7SQ-0JecUTNKeO-BI-XuD5eyOM/s400/DSCF8356.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The colours of the kit have really not been colours that I would personally have chosen on my own, but it has been fun to work with and the push out of my comfort zone has been interesting. </div>

<br />
Did you know that you can use your Studio Calico kits if you are doing Project Life? It makes doing a weekly spread much easier as everything is co-ordinated to mesh with one another, and better yet it looks as if you carefully thought out using different lines/manufacturers to make your spread look unique.<br />
<br />
For my spread last week, I used the Summer of '69 kit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG192ubWttWNnRpkbCvK1sR8QI938bL6p4LZ-JKmzClkN4mJlS1mUhOucbcCBUsZj3K3XtEL-B1-bBiNi6pTJqEZ6ZKX2xKJV2JvKQJnBYS3rQ84tYO0AJxquU1p_Ijud2MFxD7WCVTS4M/s1600/DSCF8346.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="205" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG192ubWttWNnRpkbCvK1sR8QI938bL6p4LZ-JKmzClkN4mJlS1mUhOucbcCBUsZj3K3XtEL-B1-bBiNi6pTJqEZ6ZKX2xKJV2JvKQJnBYS3rQ84tYO0AJxquU1p_Ijud2MFxD7WCVTS4M/s400/DSCF8346.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The alphas in this kit are just the right size for adding titles to the spread and the die cut elements helped to add colour and pop to the week.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRTeC7Zg90nsk0S1hVXYkSDFClyo7_C_vMhWUJksYvq1fFtEUWHaUmqX6uBp7XhXRPn5M6NFnCTlsvFiFx6ULecPrq-L7ySF0IHuV1RI0PYl-5YUu1q1OxRBffqC8oqi7biD7yCQRJhqLp/s1600/DSCF8348.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRTeC7Zg90nsk0S1hVXYkSDFClyo7_C_vMhWUJksYvq1fFtEUWHaUmqX6uBp7XhXRPn5M6NFnCTlsvFiFx6ULecPrq-L7ySF0IHuV1RI0PYl-5YUu1q1OxRBffqC8oqi7biD7yCQRJhqLp/s400/DSCF8348.JPG" width="396" /></a></div>
<br />
All you may need from your own stash is some washi tape, a black pen and adhesive and you will be good to go.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0uzsKh7gdegd6MgwWzf-3awR2NfmnBfBcNdrjNiqLPp1b01J4EfbugZBqZbrGlA9d1cUEcm55ZjwhWVucNd_cZ4ZsTsHr5GuZRTVrDFUDTE97sd0neQkAn9P_TiGYGEX33onPtmahhfnv/s1600/DSCF8349.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0uzsKh7gdegd6MgwWzf-3awR2NfmnBfBcNdrjNiqLPp1b01J4EfbugZBqZbrGlA9d1cUEcm55ZjwhWVucNd_cZ4ZsTsHr5GuZRTVrDFUDTE97sd0neQkAn9P_TiGYGEX33onPtmahhfnv/s320/DSCF8349.JPG" width="319" /></a></div>
<br />
It is simple enough to do, as Project Life is all about documenting the daily in and outgoings, but also looks like you took the effort to find different patterned papers that matched one another, when the simple secret is that you used a Studio Calico kit.<br />
<br />
Hope this inspires you to think about using your kit in a different way.<br />

Dearest friends, <br />
Today I am sharing with you how easy it is to create cards from the kits. And it is great to to be able to be able to produce so many cards from the kits, and having diferrent flavours and colour theme.<br />
<br />
I am amazed I could churm out so many cards from just a few papers and bellies and yes, I had so much fun creating, and looking forward to present these cards to my friends whether is it going to be for birthdays or anniversaries...but I know I will bring smiles on somebody's face soon.<br />
<br />
Have a great week ahead.<br />

<div>
Happy Saturday to you! It's <a href="http://cindylee12.blogspot.com/">Cindy</a> again and I have a layout and a tip to share today. First is a layout I made with the July kit. To create the background, I drew sunburst pattern on Kraft cardstock and fill the negative space with Studio Calico patterned paper. For added dimension, I add faux stitch around the sunburst pattern and letter stickers. The quickest and easiest way to create faux stitch is by using a tracing wheel and I am going to show you exactly how to do it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnh6HcM3B2-47Np4MgrSWRviKTGLmN6W0yHywAGE5G6LAggv7DCI7g_WhijPFFEgXsOwaN5PAy5gh2ipjZgjJ7xAct4cLA4E_rXrbnogwHFP74Ys0Xrp7OoXwEkByN1BPcI5xC8NGQBgU/s1600/IMG_3099.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnh6HcM3B2-47Np4MgrSWRviKTGLmN6W0yHywAGE5G6LAggv7DCI7g_WhijPFFEgXsOwaN5PAy5gh2ipjZgjJ7xAct4cLA4E_rXrbnogwHFP74Ys0Xrp7OoXwEkByN1BPcI5xC8NGQBgU/s640/IMG_3099.JPG" width="492" /></a></div>
<div>
<br />
To create your own faux stitch, you need a tracing wheel which you can get from sewing store and an ink of your choice. I usually use either black or dark brown.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiy-ZpVuzzK6ekiIsNhrZtRqT749kCq7LTfOZjPtRxNWR21cLSSBQOu3k8jrEIjnqPn4LICCaJH46vgl6vMjY2-z0r_s0GwmQ7dCXw41tCSif25_XP194NmmtocPYItYxeQuls0oOYo3Dg/s1600/IMG_3083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="350" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiy-ZpVuzzK6ekiIsNhrZtRqT749kCq7LTfOZjPtRxNWR21cLSSBQOu3k8jrEIjnqPn4LICCaJH46vgl6vMjY2-z0r_s0GwmQ7dCXw41tCSif25_XP194NmmtocPYItYxeQuls0oOYo3Dg/s400/IMG_3083.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br />
To ink your tracing wheel, simply roll the wheel in the ink. You may want to do it a couple of times to make sure that the wheel is fully covered in ink.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw80WWxbXX4Kx2JfvB6UISuc_dZmfmV2wNz_mPczMbvT9vEgiz43zhNOZXoNtor9Uoj759qbHOXwI6GvVdggi5tQjIHAcbBHHd1u_-3ZjWikD1V3c_WL6wRM3miMGCVJWHSZxnSfQkKuQ/s1600/IMG_3087.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="358" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw80WWxbXX4Kx2JfvB6UISuc_dZmfmV2wNz_mPczMbvT9vEgiz43zhNOZXoNtor9Uoj759qbHOXwI6GvVdggi5tQjIHAcbBHHd1u_-3ZjWikD1V3c_WL6wRM3miMGCVJWHSZxnSfQkKuQ/s400/IMG_3087.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br />
Then just roll the wheel onto your project as shown. Voila, faux stitch done under one minute :)<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's Cindy again and I wanted to share a card I made for <a href="http://www.scrappinstudio.com.my/">Scrappin Studio</a>. This post was due last week but my little one was not feeling well, hence the delay. For this card, I used My Mind's Eye patterned paper from the Four Square add on kit and mat it on a kraft card base. To create the butterfly, I first punched it on various patterned paper and trim accordingly. Then, I add blue jewels by Queen & Co on the butterflies. Not sure if you can see from the picture but I pop up the plain butterflies with foam tape for added dimension. Lastly, I hand stitched the letter stickers to create the homespun feel.<br />

Hope you had a great week, more than half a year is gone and in a matter of months we are closing 2012! Scary how time flies. And scary how fast babies grow too, it feels like only yesterday when my boy was a helpless infant and today he is a demanding toddler! Today I'm sharing a mini album entitled L-U-C-A-S, a tribute to him and this yellow car which he loved. (I say 'loved' because the car has since been replaced by many others and is also, sadly missing a wheel!)<br />

<br />
<br />
I started by cutting cardstock and papers into 5" x 6" sizes, all are from July's main kit and add on kit: <a href="http://www.scrappinstudio.com.my/webshaper/store/viewProd.asp?pkProductItem=827">Elmwood Park</a> and <a href="http://www.scrappinstudio.com.my/webshaper/store/viewProd.asp?pkProductItem=828">Capture the Flag</a>. Then I used remnants of the papers to embellish. The main idea was to spell out L-U-C-A-S so I started with the lettering pages and then decorated behind each with photos etc.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy4f3SjJ2nkXkiGn2QKziNh0UBb7Q7xT6awFAPIcmZVt0AviT0QdOoCXUaLa7GVi6C9g41wjVbGV1yAo14usGY2QIeWUKT30_s62uHuvvQoBTOdzObteU-0klMiI5wEIWHfPYxQY04QDw/s1600/IMG_4429-horz.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="87" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy4f3SjJ2nkXkiGn2QKziNh0UBb7Q7xT6awFAPIcmZVt0AviT0QdOoCXUaLa7GVi6C9g41wjVbGV1yAo14usGY2QIeWUKT30_s62uHuvvQoBTOdzObteU-0klMiI5wEIWHfPYxQY04QDw/s400/IMG_4429-horz.jpg" title="Marina Khong http://myscrapspiration.blogspot.com/" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The lettering are achieved by fussy the cutting the letters from this pp:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2NNNj0ctd8mf-RoW-VWaH2Oq31j7_97giAXGmSNa5dLynUTJhPG_DLmmEfw4aB1gOMzj074lK-NM5I8TMcTU-RQQpCoCGE6SnntuAtqDvooYIBrITtel0ZqKtyUiCMPwppU8DwvGQBcM/s1600/PBJ_3675_Thermos_3x3_837x837_RGB-500x500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2NNNj0ctd8mf-RoW-VWaH2Oq31j7_97giAXGmSNa5dLynUTJhPG_DLmmEfw4aB1gOMzj074lK-NM5I8TMcTU-RQQpCoCGE6SnntuAtqDvooYIBrITtel0ZqKtyUiCMPwppU8DwvGQBcM/s320/PBJ_3675_Thermos_3x3_837x837_RGB-500x500.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Basic Grey - PB & J - Thermos</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I then used the canvas ribbon (from <a href="http://www.scrappinstudio.com.my/webshaper/store/viewProd.asp?pkProductItem=828">Capture the Flag kit</a>) as the cover centrepiece....<br />

<br />
Below photos are how I decorated each page behind the lettering pages....<br />

<br />
Last step - simply punch a hole at the top left corner and use a ring or chain to hold the pages together. Finally here's how the album look like page by page.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSfZmmMoaqM_qNr4yVZm7X7UAPIMwBKIPdjghOcRBvdCO51S6O8WjTZaZRkn3gWMls47D0PuMYH2vfppANYLB5MCdgwIIkm0rmBYkSzUyHXdxB8BfhUHS8XGxCTt5Wyzl-TVUKUGhYirA/s1600/PC1_5868_1-tile.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="270" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSfZmmMoaqM_qNr4yVZm7X7UAPIMwBKIPdjghOcRBvdCO51S6O8WjTZaZRkn3gWMls47D0PuMYH2vfppANYLB5MCdgwIIkm0rmBYkSzUyHXdxB8BfhUHS8XGxCTt5Wyzl-TVUKUGhYirA/s400/PC1_5868_1-tile.jpg" title="LUCAS mini album by Marina Khong http://myscrapspiration.blogspot.com/" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Now I'd like to share a simple tutorial on how to make the canvas ribbon bloom. You will need; needle, thread, ribbon with some width, buttons and twine to decorate the centre and some glue dots to adhere the bloom to paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdO07zMKYkK8M7RIjHovPUzfqZAQy9cVOwRP2gAyOP33XYZ1YDRgGWhg0ygfmNHxBqERIp6TtlMhcyFk-iNRfbF5raNcmE1z2Bo23N-5AlH_6yyiAiyhiXjR8Fnc1XNTL9eI16G-O9dPM/s1600/IMG_4425-tile.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="301" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdO07zMKYkK8M7RIjHovPUzfqZAQy9cVOwRP2gAyOP33XYZ1YDRgGWhg0ygfmNHxBqERIp6TtlMhcyFk-iNRfbF5raNcmE1z2Bo23N-5AlH_6yyiAiyhiXjR8Fnc1XNTL9eI16G-O9dPM/s400/IMG_4425-tile.jpg" title="Canvas ribbon tutorial by Marina Khong http://myscrapspiration.blogspot.com/" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<ul>
<li>Step 1: Gather the edge of the ribbon into a fan shape, thicker ribbons are easier to work with, this canvas fabric is perfect!</li>
<li>Step 2: Thread a needle and thread through it section by section till you have enough to become a bloom.</li>
<li>Step 3: Sew up at the joining section and knot it - this will be the behind.</li>
<li>Step 4: Flip to the other side and you're almost done - add finishing touches to the centre with buttons or other embellishments.</li>
</ul>
<br />
Hope you like this album and bloom :) Thanks for dropping by and have a great week ahead!<br />
<br />
Cheers!<br />
