Altered Notebook "k" by Jaz Lee

Hi again lovely friends,

Am so happy to have the opportunity to play with Studio Calico's
June's CLASSIC KIT ;)

I spy a lil birdcage in the kit and I'm loving how tweet everything is.
Decided to alter a notebook as a gift to a very sweet friend.

I hope she likes it as much as I enjoy creating it ;)

Have a Fabulous week ahead, everyone.
Enjoy creating!

love,
jaz

Altered Box & Mini Album from Rachel

Hi, Rachel here with a couple of things to share using April's City of Lights and Montmarte kits. I used alphas from the Versailles kit as well.

First up I altered a cigar box for Maddison's hair clips.  I did one of these for her back in 2009 for all her hair accessories and it's overflowing now and so hard to find her clips in amongst her hairbands, so I decided to do another one so we can separate the clips.  (I am going to give this to her for her birthday in July :-)  Shhhh don't tell her!)

It was super simple to make - measure the sides and cut the patterned paper to suit and glue it on (I used mod podge).  I used Tim Holtz Sizzix dies - tattered floral and mini butterfly's. I cut out several sizes of the flowers and after inking the edges with worn lipstick distress ink layered them together and used the pink brads from the kits to keep them together.  Like I said - really simple! :-)

This is the front of the box.

Top.  The top is also going to have a 7 Gypsies door knob on it for a handle, but I need my hubby to do that for me as it needs to be drilled and then recessed so the lid can still slide.
Close up of the flower on the front.

Secondly, I made another mini album about our home here in KL.  We are heading back to NZ for a holiday during the summer break and I needed an updated album to show friends and family of our new place.  I used my Zutter to bind it together.

I'll let the pictures tell the story :-)  (I do like those wooden frames in the kit - they stand out slightly higher than the thickers which is awesome as I think it will protect the thickers from coming off when it's being handled a lot.)

Had to use the bike stamps on the playground page :-)

And don't forget Tom Turtle on the back page!

I still have 3-4 pages spare in the album actually, but I will fill them with photos of our friends here and pictures of Aaron & Maddison at school.

Thanks so much for looking.  Absolutely loved using the April kits and I am looking forward to working (playing!) with the May kits!  :-)

Happy Scrapping

Mini Album & Box by Rachel

Hi Everyone
I'm back again to share with you a mini album I've made using February's 'Daydream Believer' and 'Pleasant Valley' kits. I have also used a button embellishment from the 'Stepping Stone' kit.
.
The album is 6"x6". I found an empty chocolate box that was the perfect size to store the album in and I altered the lid of that. Everything is from the kits except what I have listed below at the bottom of this post. I also used little bits of packaging from the embellishments included in the kits.

Cover of the box.
Box showing the album inside.
The album.
First page includes a pocket which I added 3 tags to. I have made the album for a special friend and want my kids to draw/write/scribble something on a tag each for her. :-)

Here's Maddison's tag ... she hasn't finished it yet, but it's a picture of her and our friend! :-)

Couldn't resist adding that "angel" on this page. I cut it from the little card included in the kit that says who packed the kit.
Back of the album.
A few close-up pictures of the embellishments.
I do like that 'Dear Lizzy' pink trim.
Love how it all came together. :-)
Happy Scrapping.
Rachel

Atc's and Altered File

I love to make Atc's and enjoy swapping with my craft buddies. Even though my collection is still small but i'm determine to continue swapping. Soon i hope i'll be able to show them off! lol. I created a series of Atc's with this month kit 'Handmade' and add on 'Tatting'.

I decided to alter my plain looking red folder/file holder for the Atc's. I'm glad i managed to find time to do something to the cover. It's plastic and i find it hard to tone down the red. I decided to slap on some gesso and bubble stamp the background. It looks better now i hope.

I'm open for swap. Drop me a comment if you're interested. Have a good weekend..:)))

SC Brown Bag Mini Album

Hello everyone. I have a simple tutorial or more like an idea to share. Every month i receive my Studio Calico Kit in a big brown bag. I hoard them all and was thinking of a way to recycle it. I came up with this simple idea of turning the bag into a Mini Album with pockets! Let me show you how i do it.

First i cut the bag into 3 sizes, The first two is 7'x12' and the other half is 4.5' x 12'.

Next i fold them in half and then stack them on top one another.

If you have a sewing machine just sew the center part to make the spine. In my case i hand stitch using embroidery floss. Please excuse my horrible stitching!

I glue the bottom part of the bag to make pockets.

Finally the fun part, cover them up with your left over bits and pieces from the kit. Embellish as desire!

I managed to do 3 mini's, one from my current kit Field Guide the rest is from my previous stash.

This is going to be my new year gifts to my girlfriends. I still have plenty of those brown bag and perhaps will think of other ways to recycle them.
