Dec Kit - 3 Layouts

Today would be my last entry for Scrappin Studio. It's been an amazing one year journey and I'd like to thank Jamie Lee for giving me this golden opportunity to be in the design team along side amazing talent of Iris Uy and Jessy Christopher. It's always sad to bid farewell but i am sure come 2012 there will be more awesome inspirations from the new Dt's. 

For my last post I'm sharing 3 layouts from my Dec kit and Add On's. Well I'd like to say goodbye with a bang! lol. Hope this last 3 piece will inspire you to create more. Thank you everyone for leaving such a wonderful comment all this while.

Altered Solo Shadow Box

Hey all, only few days left before Christmas and I'm sure most of you are done with your shopping. If not it's always not too late for a mad rush to the mall! lol. 

Today i'd like to share an altered project using a solo shadow box from 7 Gypsies. You can get your's here. To dress up the box i use Dec Main Kit Brooklyn Flea with Add On's from Printers Drawer & Salvaged except for the Prima flower, tiny bottle's and gauze that is not in the kit supply.

Sunday Sketch by AK

December is here! How time flies. It's been a great year at Scrappin Studio and for today Sunday Sketch we have a RAK to offer the winner. Yes, instead of the usual voucher we decided to do something different for December. 

The rules are simple, simply create according to the sketch above and link your creation at the comment section below or email us at admin@scrappinstudio.com.my. Challenge starts from 11th Dec 2011 till 25th Dec 2011.

Nov Handmade Mini Album

I am obsess with Mini's!!! It has become obvious to some of my blog readers that i created mini's like how some scrapper creates a card! Some asked how long does it take for me to do one album and the truth is to date my fastest record is 2 hours! It seems once i get started the time just stood still for me.

Anyway i love to share another one created with Nov Handmade Kit with Add On's Tatting & Pin Cushion. Have to say this is one of my personal fav's, oh wait aren't they all my favourite??? lol. I created a lot of pockets for mini tags and make used of all the packaging in the kit. The base of this album is cut from cardboard supplied in the add on kits. 

A total of 10 page. Hope you get to do a Mini with your kit and I'd love to peek! Have a good week ahead. :)))

Nov Layouts by AK

November is a busy month for me but still i would not miss a thing playing with my Calico kit 'Handmade'. I love it so much i decided to do 2 layouts! If only i have extra time i'd like to create more actually. 

Both lo is created with Main Kit and Add on, Pin Cushion & Tatting. Masking and misting on both page then i layered with embellishment and fussy cut flowers.

Atc's and Altered File

I love to make Atc's and enjoy swapping with my craft buddies. Even though my collection is still small but i'm determine to continue swapping. Soon i hope i'll be able to show them off! lol. I created a series of Atc's with this month kit 'Handmade' and add on 'Tatting'.

I decided to alter my plain looking red folder/file holder for the Atc's. I'm glad i managed to find time to do something to the cover. It's plastic and i find it hard to tone down the red. I decided to slap on some gesso and bubble stamp the background. It looks better now i hope.

Batch Of 89 Layout By AK

Yes i know if you're wondering about the title yes i am that old! lol. I was very happy and excited to be able to celebrate my recent Hari Raya with my schoolmate. We've been friends way back than 89 actually. They were around when i get married and they're still around whenever i needed them.

For this piece here (created with Oct main and add on kit) i have a confession, i actually did blunder with the mists! Lol. I bet you notice the weird looking misting job on the paper BUT i decided to proceed with the page and managed to cover most of the mistakes. After all i always live by the motto if it's art then imperfection expected.

So the next time you don't like certain things on your page, improvised! Add details, a bit of this and that..voila! What do you know? A good piece somehow! :)

  

SC Brown Bag Mini Album

Hello everyone. I have a simple tutorial or more like an idea to share. Every month i receive my Studio Calico Kit in a big brown bag. I hoard them all and was thinking of a way to recycle it. I came up with this simple idea of turning the bag into a Mini Album with pockets! Let me show you how i do it.

First i cut the bag into 3 sizes, The first two is 7'x12' and the other half is 4.5' x 12'.

Next i fold them in half and then stack them on top one another.

If you have a sewing machine just sew the center part to make the spine. In my case i hand stitch using embroidery floss. Please excuse my horrible stitching!

I glue the bottom part of the bag to make pockets.

Finally the fun part, cover them up with your left over bits and pieces from the kit. Embellish as desire! 

I managed to do 3 mini's, one from my current kit Field Guide the rest is from my previous stash. 

 

This is going to be my new year gifts to my girlfriends. I still have plenty of those brown bag and perhaps will think of other ways to recycle them.
