December Kit by Margrethe Aas Johnsen

Hello, everyone!

It's the day before New Year's Eve, and I'm here to bring you the last few projects I made using the December kits from Studio Calico.

I'd like to start off with a layout with a photo of what greeted me when I came home one day. My husband loves his motorcycles and this year, since we've moved into a new house and he wants to take really good care of them, he carefully moved his favorite bike into his little den on the first floor...

On this layout I used the gold glitter paper to cut out a title using my Silhouette. The font is called Nova Solid.

The second layout is a scraplift of Tina Azimus' layout by the same title. I really like doing layouts like this to pick some of the highlights of the year that's passed and since today is the second to last day of the year, I thought this was appropriate.

On this layout, I've included photos from the entire year: My in-laws' 50th birthday party, when I was offered a permanent teaching position, the trip we took on the motorcycle last summer, his sister's wedding, my trip to Krakow, my friend's wedding, our cats and general everyday photos.

My last project is a card lift. I really loved the card Emily Pitts made for Simple Stories and wanted to make something similar. For this card I used the Murray Hill add-on (B-side of the camera paper from KI Memories, as well as the alphabet stickers and fantastic smile washin tape from the same brand).

Normally I'm not a card maker, but simple cards like this works for me!

That's it from me for this time. I've loved this chance of working with the gorgeous Studio Calico kits for Scrappin Studio. Jaime, thanks for having me guest twices this year. It's been an absolute pleasure!

December Kit by Margrethe Aas Johnsen

Hello! I hope you've had a good December so far! Today I want to share two projects using Studio Calico's Decemeber kit and add-ons.

For the first layout, I used the Main Kit (34th Street) only. I wanted to make a layout using just the main kit as I'm sure not everyone buys add-ons. The main kit is very versatile and you won't have any problems if this kit is all you've got this month.

For this layout I used the gray cardstock as a base and one of Studio Calico's exclusive patterned papers. I really dug into the exclusive Basic Grey alphas, making a big, bold title and then added the journaling spot. I loved the Pebbles Label stickers and loved adding them to the speech bubbles. I see endeless possibilities here!

 

For my next project I used my Silhouette electronic die-cutter. I needed to make a Christmas card/gift tag and didn't want to make a regular card nor use a posta tag as I've done previous years. I found this great cut-file from Patty Young and cut the mitten using a holiday paper from October Afternoon (found in the Kriss Kringle add-on).

 I cut another mitten using kraft cardstock as I needed a non-patterned background for the star shape on the mitten. I used my Silhouette once more to cut out the "god jul"-sentiment in gold glitter paper (found in main kit).

November Kit Cards by Marina Khong

Hello everyone! It's December again! Oh my time flies! Here are my last projects for the month using Studio Calico's November kits: Sock Hop and Bobby Socks.

First I have a simple Thank You 6" x 6" card combining kraft and blue with a touch of soft pink, all from main kit Sock Hop. Flowers were cut using Sizzix Eclips.

 Next I have a more cheerful project; a Birthday 6" x 6" card using add-on kit Bobby Socks. The flag lines were manually cut, layered and adhered with foam dots.

November Kit Projects by Marina Khong

Hello crafty people! Marina here :) I'm back again and I have two new projects to share. I'm thrilled with this month's kits as the colors are so fresh and bright and I just love the little clear stamps and fun brads! Can't wait to use them all! :)

On to my projects... I'm starting with Bobby Socks, November's #1 add on kit. Get the kit here :)

 First is a fresh and simple birthday card, love how the patterns in the kit complement each other so well, and that red tag is just delicious :)

(Cardstock, stamp, seam binding and twine not from kit)

This kit came with a pack of awesome fun brads too!

 

For the second project, I used the remaining papers to create a shabby card. I love being able to create different themes from the same papers. Here I altered a Tim Holtz tag using the leftover papers from the card.

Love the background paper - October Afternoon's Ring Toss from the kit and Heidi Swapp Black and White Alpha (cardstock, lace, brads, pearls and fabric rose not from kit).

That's my first post for Studio Calico's Bobby Socks... I have more to come... now I'll be off for a mini vacation with the hubs next week so you'll only hear from me next weekend. I need to find myself some fresh new inspiration and perhaps some travel photos for a layout or mini album, stay tuned ;)

Hello Sunshine by Marina Khong

Happy Sunday scrappers! Marina here again to share a quick and easy cheerful card to brighten up your coming week  :)

Hello Sunshine is created using Studio Calico's July main kit Elmwood Park and add-on kit Capture the Flag. The candy colors are simply so cheerful it's sure to make you sunny and happy! Feeling the joy yet? Then check the kits out here!

I must say I really LOVE the retro office babe in the centre of the card which is fussy cut from October's Afternoon's 9 to 6 collection; Shorthand (available in Elmwood Park). See, there are so many retro babes to choose from! :) I can make a dozen "office cards" from just one sheet!

A Couple of LO's from Rachel

I was thrilled with the kits this month! :-) Mind you I haven't been disappointed yet with them as they are filled with beautiful things. The kits arrived Tuesday afternoon and yesterday I turned my back on the ironing pile (which was easy to do heheee) and made time to play! :-)

'Love You More' LO uses papers, stamp and buttons from the Montmarte kit and the polka dot vellum behind the photo is from the Versailles kit. I used Tim Holtz's mini hearts movers and shapers Sizzix die to cut the hearts. I kept this LO really simple (like I usually do I suppose) because the paper was so beautiful I felt if I added more things I was taking away from it.

'Helping Hands' uses mostly things from the City of Lights kit except the yellow and green paper tapes from Montmarte kit and the title is stamped using the alpha stamps from last months kit.
And a little card made with off cuts from the above LO. :-)

Our Little Princess LO and some cards

Hi there, I'm back with another LO using Scrappin Studio's February main kit "Daydream Believer" and add-on kit "Pleasant Valley".

Love the Mistables Pinked Trim in the main kit ... I used Tattered Angels glimmer mist Cherub Pink and Creme de Chocolat on them.

This cluster of flowers I actually cut out from the background paper (behind the photo) and mounted it with foam tape for dimension.
Another thing I love about these kits is the amount of alphas included :-) So many to choose from! These ones are like scrabble tiles, but I overlapped them all (mainly because Princess didn't fit into the space otherwise!).

This piece of 'Dear Lizzy" paper is from her new collection Neapolitan. I've used lots of pieces from this one page on the LO above and the cards below. (This piece is in the add-on kit "Pleasant Valley"). :-)

I also made a couple of quick cards - using everything from the kits.

It's Lovely!!

What a lovely day is today in Malaysia. The sun is shinning & windy too. Well, that is what I can see out from my window :) 

Last week I got the Studio Calico November "Handmade" kit and I love the hint of grey in the kit. I have been falling in love with grey since August! I am super thrilled to see more grey in the main kit. giggles. 

So I am back again to share with you a layout that I have created. It's filled with grey, black and a tiny hint of turquoise!

This week i'm sharing a card project using my Boardwalk kit. A card for someone special that is always in your heart and  a few small cards that could be used as a gift tag or simply as a small thank you note. 

I love the Remark Adhesive Chalk Label from American Crafts. Each card is left with blank Remark for easy use. Simply put your thoughts or wording according to each occasion. Dont you just love the flexibility of this kit??? I sure do!!! :)))

Sillhouette Cards

I have purchased these set of Hero Arts 3 Silhouettes a while back and never had the chance to play with them until today! I am glad that these stamps went so well with the August "Boardwalk" kit so well. My inspirations came when I looked at each silhouette. 

This silhouette inspired me to create a shabby chic card. 

Next silhouette had a retro feel to it and hence the stripes were totally appropriate :)

The last silhouette was girly and I decided to give a modern look to it :)

I had a blast creating these cards and I love how three turned out to be and also heart all the white spaces too :) Very into clean lines + white spaces these days, I noticed especially with Studio Calico kits!

Butterfly Card

I always enjoy creating cards & today let me share with you a butterfly card I created using SC kit. For some reason, I am pretty 'addicted' to butterflies at the moment. Lol.

This is how it looks like when you open up :) 

I heart the Fabrips, the button flower, the stamp & of course the fun AC thicker . You can get these products  in the July "Mind The Gap" kit. 

The inner portion of the card :) I stamped-misted-distressed!
